2Unflavoured. A bold choice. On it's own, you cannot get this down your throat. I am not a fussy man, but I guarantee you that you cannot drink this on its own. It is like liquid cardboard and pencil shavings. I have to mix this with copious amounts of nesquik powder, which isn't great because of the sugar, and even then it's a tough one. That being said, it mixes well and can sort of be hidden in smoothies. Heed my warning. The Vegan protein blend is a better option.

Better than expected
5I was expecting some awful taste after reading the reviews but I am actually impressed. Yes, it tastes like cardboard and, like any protein drink I've ever had, it is awful. My digestive system doesn't take whey proteins very well, so before this I hat the pea one. That one tastes so bad (to me) that I'd rather go to the dentist that have it. I'm surprised I somehow found the willpower to finish that pack. This one on the other hand, is like vanilla ice-cream compared to that. I can easily drink it raw, and if I blend in some frozen strawberries it is almost delicious. It digests well in my case, no side effects. Pro tip: mix the drink to be a bit watery, then hold your nose while you chug it down in 2 goes (or 1 if you can handle it). You can drink the most awful concoctions this way and suffer minimally.

It's not that bad
4Nutritionally, this is great. It's got lots of protein and very little fat. On its own, the taste is horrid. The first few times I used this, it was disgustingly savoury. However, after mixing 4 teaspoons of banana Nesquik with it, it's absolutely fine. Regardless, though, the smell is revolting. Goes Well With:Banana Nesquik with oat milk.

5The taste of both this and the pea protein will make you lament life, wonder if chickens might want to be eaten, and perhaps question the existence of God. Don't have it alone. I start the day with this in a smoothie; the taste is then fine: 2 bananas 60g porridge oats 1 scoop pea protein 1 scoop rice protein 50 peanut butter Handful of berries if available Almond milk or water to bring total volume to 800mlGoes Well With:Anything that can mask the taste.

tastes just fine you big babies!!
4Really surprised by the amount of people complaining about the taste, i mixed it with water and milk and it tasted just fine albeit with a slightly chalky aftertaste. It mixed wonderful with bananas, peanut and almond milk, very tasty.Goes Well With:milk, bananas, peanut butter

Rice Protein
5Unflavoured but tastes great with or without flavouring it. I use it with water. Mixes ok and does the job of getting a brilliant protein source without allergens. Highly recommended. I will be continuing to buy this product. Goes Well With:Water, Flavour drops

Much better than the Pea Protein Powder
4I've ordered pea protein previously and the rice protein is much better, taste and smell are pretty neutral while the pea protein had awful smell and taste. It mixes fine I guess, my blender can't really handle it that well. Goes Well With:Oatmeal/Fruit shake

Much Better Than Whey
5I don't understand all the reviews saying bad mixability and taste on here. For me anyone who's only using water and a shaker to mix their protein is an absolute mook anyway. If like a normal human you use a blender and some ingredients like almond milk, a banana, some seeds and honey it tastes great. It actually mixes in a blender much better than whey protein, because it doesn't go all foamy and feel like you're drinking a pint of creamy froth. The main thing though is that it doesn't give me a bloated or gassy feeling at all like whey does, and I certainly will never be going back.

Good for throwing back
4I have recently switched to vegan shakes, the whey ones can be a bit sticky when washing the cup and I get a bit bloated. The hemp and rice I have tried have not had that issue. This one is quite chalky but the shaker with the metal thing in mixes up really well. This doesnt taste as good as a blueberry cheescake shake with cinnamon topping of course but it does get the job done. I havent tried the flavour drops but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative try vimto or any other brand of concentrated fruit drink. Pour a bit of that in and it adds enough sweetness to throw it back no problem. This isnt a three course lobster and steak meal its extra protein, pure and simple. Goes Well With:My digestive system

Not terrible.
4As far as plant protein products go it's not the best option available. The flavour is essentially concentrated brown rice, it's not undrinkable but it is a long way from pleasant. It mixes like one would expect sand to. Goes Well With:Haven't found it yet
